Ethan Lahey is an Instructor and Inspector at NY Fire Consultants with 18 years of service in the FDNY. He rose to the civil service rank of Lieutenant and developed expertise in building construction, life safety systems, and public administration. He holds degrees in fire science and public administration from John Jay College, with a concentration in architecture. He is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the National Association of Fire Chiefs, and the Uniformed Fire Officers Association (UFOA). His proudest career moment was receiving the call for promotion to Captain. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with his wife and children, carpentry, and is an avid fan of baseball and hockey. He advises future fire safety professionals to remain dedicated to continuing education in fire and life safety, and to always maintain trust in the people they work with and serve.
