Dan Sambrato, an Instructor at NY Fire Consultants, served 36 years in the FDNY, achieving the rank of Captain, and spent 4 years as a correction officer. He has certifications in Tech 1 DCon, taught rope rescue techniques, and worked as an instructor at the FDNY Academy. A member of the Columbian Association and Holy Name Society, he enjoys golf and travel. His advice to future fire safety professionals is to remember that fire safety is a serious and essential responsibility — and that professionalism is key to keeping others safe. If not a firefighter, he says, he would have been a teacher or coach.
